Evening Rituals

Do you ever find yourself lying awake, wishing you could quiet your mind and settle into a restful night’s sleep? These simple evening rituals to wind down and prepare for restful sleep will help.

Here are a few of my favorite simple rituals to help wind down at night:

  • Gentle Movement: Try a short on-demand yoga flow or a few gentle twists. This helps release tension and signals your body that it’s time to rest.
  • Pause for Stillness: Find a comfortable spot, lower the lights, and simply breathe. Even a few minutes of mindful breathing (like this) can help calm a busy mind.
  • Take Time for Quiet: Read a book, sip a favorite herbal tea, or write a quick gratitude list. Small acts done consistently send a message to your mind and body that it’s safe to rest.

No matter what your evenings look like right now, you deserve a little care at the end of each day. Each gentle step you take tells your body, “It’s okay to relax. It’s okay to rest.”

You truly don’t need a complicated routine; just pick what feels helpful and let it be enough.

If restful sleep feels out of reach, joining one of our calming on-demand classes or taking part in a live Thursday evening session can help you settle in and reconnect with your breath, even on the busiest days.

Whatever you choose, let it be a gift to yourself.

You are so worthy of a bit of evening peace, friend.

Journal Prompt for This Week:
What’s one gentle thing you can do tonight to help your mind and body unwind before sleep?

Need something prepackaged and ready to go? Today’s suggested on-demand class, Deep Relaxation, is a perfect way to calm your mind after a long day. Bonus: it’s only 17 minutes long and can be done in your comfy pants.

If you’re looking for an easier way to transition from the busyness of daytime to a peaceful evening, you’re not alone. Creating calming evening rituals (even small ones) can make all the difference in how you feel as you drift off to sleep.

Wishing you restful nights and peaceful mornings ahead.

P.S. If you’ve found an evening ritual that helps you sleep more soundly, I’d love to hear about it! Reply and share your favorite wind-down practices. It might just inspire someone else to try something new.
