Vinyasa and Yin

Why Do Would You Want Both Vinyasa and Yin Yoga in Your Life?

Have you ever wondered why we offer both vinyasa and yin yoga? If you’ve ever felt torn between a flowy, energetic class and a slow, soothing one, you’re not alone. Having both vinyasa and yin yoga in your life can be a total game-changer for your body and mind.

Two Paths, One Destination: Feeling Better

Vinyasa yoga (or flow yoga) is all about movement and breath. It’s energizing, builds heat, and helps you shake off stress by flowing from one pose to the next. If you’ve ever needed to clear your head or wake up your body, a vinyasa class is like a reset button for your day. You’ll leave feeling stronger and more focused, both mentally and physically.

But sometimes, what you really need is the opposite. Yin yoga (as well as restorative yoga) invites you to slow down, soften, and settle into stillness. You’ll hold poses for several minutes, giving your body time to release deep tension and your mind a chance to quiet. Yin is perfect when you’re feeling frazzled, tight, or just need a gentle pause from a busy week.

Why You Need Both Vinyasa and Yin

Think of vinyasa and yin as two sides of the same coin. Vinyasa helps you build resilience and energy, while yin encourages release and reflection. When you weave both into your routine, you’re giving yourself the best of both worlds: strength and softness, movement and stillness, action and rest.

If you ever get stuck in a rut, switching up your practice can spark new insight and help you tune in to what you really need. It’s not about choosing one or the other. It’s about finding your own unique balance.

Try Them This Week

Our membership offers both vinyasa and yin classes, allowing you to experience the benefits of each whenever you need them. And this week is special because you can come to live classes of each! Stacey’s signature Feel Better Yoga Flow vinyasa class is on Thursday and Saturday, and Jill’s restorative Yin class is on Sunday morning!

If you’ve been craving a little more balance in your life, give both styles a try this week. Notice how your body and mind respond to each. You might be surprised by what you discover!

This Week’s Journal Prompt

How do you feel after a vinyasa class versus a yin class? What’s one thing you notice about your mood, mind, or body after each?

You don’t have to choose just one path. Every practice is a step toward feeling better mentally, physically, and emotionally. If you’re looking for a supportive space to grow your practice, our membership is always open to you.

P.S. If you’re curious about how to blend vinyasa and yin into your routine, show up for the live classes this week and reap the benefits.
