Has it felt hard lately? When it feels hard, remember your intention.
This month’s intention, “I can do hard things,” invites us to embrace challenges both on and off the mat.
Carrying this intention with you in your yoga practice changes how you meet moments of resistance. Whether holding a challenging pose, deepening your breath, or simply showing up, you cultivate resilience, patience, and strength.
These small acts of dedication in class become reminders that you are capable of more than you realize.
I had to call on this intention during my private yoga class yesterday. I asked my teacher to make the class challenging, but when she told me to hold plank for a couple more breaths, I didn’t want to!
That’s when this intention came to mind, and it helped me stay in the plank. When it feels hard, moments like these remind us how powerful this mindset can be.
As you bring this intention into your practice this month, notice how it empowers you off the mat as well.
In daily life, we all face moments that ask us to step up, dig deeper, or be patient. Reminding yourself that you can do hard things helps you stay grounded and resourceful in these times.
Journal Prompt: Think about a recent challenge you faced, either in your yoga practice or in your life. How did you handle it? If you could have approached it with the mindset, “I can do hard things,” how do you think it would have impacted your experience?
Then, reflect on how this intention could help you with future challenges.
I look forward to exploring this intention with you throughout November, both in practice and beyond!
