Meet The Members: Say hi to Carol!

To strengthen our yoga community, once a month, I check in with one of your fellow members so you can get to know each other better. This month, in honor of Mother’s Day, I talked with Carol because she and her daughter came to the last retreat together! It was so fun to see them together, so I knew I needed to spotlight Carol this month.

After we reminisced about “the marvelous retreat,” which she loved as another way of developing camaraderie in the membership. (She’s always the first to say hi to a fellow retreater before a Live class) here’s what else we talked about.

☀️ In a few words, tell me who you are.

Earth advocate, tenacious, quirky, perpetual student and mediocre recreational athlete.


☀️ What is your favorite SSY yoga class?

Thursday morning Live Zoom (and any class filmed on a sunny beach)


☀️ What is your favorite SSY meditation?

The Yoga Nidra practice because it effectively calms me to chill out and more fully relax – my ultimate personal meditative goal.


☀️ What do you love about the membership/being a member?

I love membership’s unlimited monthly live classes and extensive archive of professionally produced and formulated sessions.

Clear, concise directions are always pleasantly delivered.

Quality teaching throughout!


☀️ Why did you join the membership?

I knew I needed yoga long before I started practicing for stress relief, flexibility, strength, and balance improvement. I joined the SSY membership for the excellence of instruction and convenience of Zoom access at home or away.


☀️ How has your yoga practice helped you in your life off the mat?

I believe health and fitness are essential to successful, active aging.  Everything works better through yoga: with more strength, better range of motion, and less discomfort overall in sports like golf and pickleball, playing with grandkids, or walking the beautiful network of nature trails near my home.  SSY helps keep it all going!


☀️ How has your yoga practice evolved in the membership?

I would say that SSY has significantly fostered my practice evolution in the mentioned areas and has given me intentions that I draw upon when life throws challenges.

I am definitely feeling better physically and more content mentally overall!

Final assessment A+.
