Trust the Journey

You don’t have to know what comes next to trust the journey.

Almost 6 years ago, I made a decision that required me to move forward without knowing exactly how things would turn out.

I had questions. I had doubts. And I definitely didn’t have a five-year plan that guaranteed everything would work out.

But I had enough information to take the next step to open my yoga business online and create the Stacey Stufflebeam Yoga membership.

I had no idea what it would become… or how often I would want to change the name. 😉

I had never run an online membership before. I didn’t know how many people would join, how it would evolve, or whether I was making the right decision.

But I knew I wanted to try. I wanted to trust the journey.

There were definitely moments when I questioned myself. (You do NOT want to know how much I was sweating the first time I taught a live meditation! 😂) But I kept coming back to the idea that I didn’t need to know exactly where it would lead. I just needed to trust myself enough to take the next step.

And, here we are. Together.

Sometimes we believe self-trust means feeling completely confident before we make a decision.

I don’t think it does.

Sometimes trusting yourself means saying, I don’t know exactly how this will unfold, but I trust myself to figure it out along the way.

That feels very different than having all the answers.

And honestly, there’s something freeing about realizing you don’t need to know everything before you begin.

Journal prompt

Where am I being asked to take the next step without knowing exactly what comes next?

What would change if you trusted yourself to figure it out along the way? Can you trust the journey? (I think you can.)

See you soon!

P.S. You only need to know where you want to go and the next step. You don’t need to see the whole path. Practicing that on your yoga mat, friend, makes it easier to do in the rest of your life too.

October intention: I trust myself.
