As we welcome May, our new intention is: I choose to be calm and at peace. How does that feel as you read it? Let just saying the words be a gentle reminder to pause and notice what’s happening inside you right now.

This week, I want to share a story about finding calm in the midst of everyday chaos. Last week, I almost missed a class! My alarm didn’t go off (I set it for the wrong day!), and as I was rushing to get ready to teach, my morning felt anything but peaceful. In the rush, I spilled my water, missed breakfast, and felt frantic. But as I got ready to join the Zoom, I took a deep breath and remembered: peace isn’t something I have to search for. It’s something I can create, right now, with a single breath.
That first inhale didn’t erase my stress, but it softened the edges. Each breath after brought me a little closer to center. By the time class started, I felt much more grounded and ready – not because everything was perfect, but because I chose to give myself a moment of calm.
Peace is built one breath at a time, even on messy days.
And even when I’m not ;), the On-Demand Library is always ready for you, whether you need a ten-minute pause or a full practice to reset your mind and body. And if you want community support, join our live classes every Thursday and Saturday morning. Each practice is a space to breathe, move, and reconnect with your own sense of calm.
Journal Prompt:
What is one small way I can invite more calm into this week?
Remember, you don’t have to wait for everything to be quiet to find peace. You can choose calm, one breath at a time, no matter what your day holds.
P.S. Even a single mindful breath can shift your whole day. Give yourself permission to pause and notice the calm that’s already within you.
P.P.S. Are you participating in our May Challenge?
May Intention: I choose to be calm and at peace.
