Have you ever walked into a room, and thought, “What am I thinking? I can’t do this!” or “There must be a mistake, I’m not qualified,” or even a simple “What am I doing here?!?”
You’re not alone!
We’ve all experienced those moments of self-doubt and feelings of Imposter Syndrome! There are ways to conquer self-doubt though.
Moments of self-doubt when your ego tries to keep you playing small and in your comfort zone can pop up anytime you try to make a change but it’s our job to notice them for what they are (fears not truths) and take steps to overcome them.
Are you ready for more trust instead of self-doubt?
A couple of my favorite ways to conquer self-doubt are to count your wins and get on your yoga mat!
Count Your Wins
This is especially helpful when you think of things that are similar to the self-doubt you’re feeling at the time. For example, if you’re feeling apprehensive about going to a new yoga class, recall a time you tried something new (like a type of food or a different hairstyle) and enjoyed it.
As humans, we tend to focus on the things that went wrong and forget about the things that went well. Remember those things that went well. No matter how small they may seem. Those are your wins! Those help you feel better.
Get On Your Yoga Mat
Yoga gives you space to get out of your head. It allows you to live in the present moment. And the present moment is when you can conquer that self-doubt.
This month’s theme in the membership is, “I let go of doubt to welcome trust. I trust myself!” so each of the remaining Live classes and suggested On-Demand classes are a reminder that you’ve trusted your instincts in the past and you can trust yourself today, too.
Need a boost right now?
Roll out your mat for one of my favorite classes! This class is free so after your practice, please, share it with someone who could use a little help feeling better today.
This class will have you feeling more trust instead of self-doubt.
For today’s journaling prompt, let’s go back to the idea of counting your wins by using this prompt.
What are five things I’m proud of myself for doing this month?
Give yourself time to think about it AND give yourself time to feel proud of yourself.
